KAPOK LAME

Bone Broken In Foot “The Press" Special Service PALMERSTON N., Mar. 7. Kapok, who pulled up lame while galloping at Woodville last Thursday, will not be able to race again for some months. The two-year-old was X-rayed last week. This revealed that he had fractured the middle bone in his near front hoof. Kapok’s owner-trainer, Mr R. Hansen, will keep the colt in his box for some time to give the bone, which has not been displaced, a chance to knit. Another X-ray will be taken in three months and high hopes are held for a complete recovery in about six months. Kapok will not continue with his engagement in the Plunket Nursery Handicap at Trentham next Saturday.
