Mr Justice Henry had been appointed as a member and chairman of the Prisons Parole Board, in succession to Mr Justice McGregor, who has completed his term of office in the post.—(P.A.) Lieutenant-Colonel T. F. L. Ward, of Kirikopuni, Northland, has received promotion to the rank of colonel as deputy commander of .he Ist Infantry Brigade Group, New Zealand Territorial Force.—(P.A.)
Mr D. G. Simmers, of Wellington. has been appointed the first Richard Maclaurin Goodfellow chaplain at the University of Auckland. The appointment was made by the university sub-committee of the National Council of Churches in association with the Maclaurin - Goodfellow foundation.—(PA.)
