Avondale Tourney Postponed
The Avondale Golf Club’s open tournament was postponed because of steady rain yesterday morning. Seventy golfers had entered, and some had played between six and 10 holes by 10 a.m., when a decision to abandon play for the day was made. At this stage several sections of the course were under water. The club will apply to the Canterbury Provincial Golf Association for a new date for its fixture.
