W. Australia Struggling (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) PERTH, March 4. Western Australia were strugglirug hard to avoid outnigihit defeat in their Sheffield Shield match against Victoria at the Western Australian Cricket Association ground in Perth yesterday. Western Australia made a brisk start in its second innings to chase Victoria’s 159-run first innings lead. The opener. K. Gantrell, fell to the first innings wrecker, C. Guest. Then the newcomer, W. Smith, joined Punch in a second wicket stand which yielded 68 before Punch was dismissed with the score on 98 and Western Australia stall facing a 61 run firstinnings deficit.
