Tourists 294 At Salisbury
(NJZ.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) SALISBURY, March 3. A fine innings of 82 by C. McDonald and some good knocks gy the ta.ilenders enabled the touring Commonweallth cricket team to total 294 on the opening day of its three-day match against a Rhodesian invitation XI in Salisbury today. Ait the close the Rhodesian side, captained by the South African test skipper D. J. McG-lew, had replied with 3 for no wickets. McDonald, who opened the Commonwealth inmings. batted patiently for 185 minutes (seven fours) against good steady bowling and keen fielding.
D. Larter hit two sixes and a four in one over from C. Bland before being caught for 30. Other lively knocks came from E. Weekes, who made 48, and R. Lindwall. 43.
