The small motor vessel Paroto. bound from Wellington for Kaiapoi, berthed at Lyttelton late on Saturday afternoon after finding the Waimakartri Bar unworkable The larger motor vessel River City, which sailed torx Lyttelton for Wanganui before mid-day on Saturday, returned to her berth about an hour later because of heavy seas outside.
