Although the Waimate branch line is generally believed to be under notice of closure on June 30. a telegram received from the Minister of Railways »Mr McAlpine! says that no definite decision has yet been made In the telegram, addressed to the secretary of die Watmate Businessmen's Association. the Minister said: "Replying to your telegram regarding the Waimate branch line. I would reassure your association that, as promised previously, no decision will be arrived at until I make a Personal inspection of the line and I hope to do 'his within the next few weeks. I will advise your association and other interested parties of the itinerary end arrange an appointment for discussions then “
