OPERATION IN EDINBURGH.—EIeven-year-old Dawn Margaret Inkster and her mother, Mrs J. Inkster, of Timaru, photographed at the Christchurch airport before leaving for Britain. Dawn Inkster contracted poliomyelitis in January, 1956, and is to be operated on in Edinburgh for curvature of the spine. She will come “under the wing” of the Girl Guide movement while she is in hospital. Mrs Inkster expects that she and her daughter will be away for about 12 months.
