State Grant For Restoration

WELLINGTON, Feb. 13 The Government would make a grant of £4500 for the first part of the restoration of the mission house at Waimate North, the Deputy Prime Miniatei (Mr Marshall) announced at a reception tonight for Lord Euston, chairman of the British National Trust, who is on a visit to New Zealand. Mr Marshall said that the trustees of the mission bouse had appealed for public support, and so that restoration could be done more quickly the Government had decided to make a grant outside the normal grant. The grant would come from funds at the disposal of the Minister of Internal Affairs <Mr Gotz).
