Master Dalmain On Market

Master Dalmain, which is cm the market at 2000gns, is likely to change hands soon At present he is under offer at this figure to Mr J. Y Scales, of Christchurch, a patron of the Wasbdyke trainer, W. P. Hogan. Master Dalmain passed a veterinary examination this afternoon, but will have a final test on the track tomorrow morning. A half-brother to the winners Seadune and Dalmain, Master Dalmain is a three-year-old gelding by Alonzo from the Man’s Pal mare, Ella's Pal, a sister to the dual Riverton Cup winner. Joygiver. Master Dalmain was bred by his Central Otago owner, Mr D. Kelly, who raced Joygiver and a number of other horses in partnership with Mr J. Richardson, of Dunedin.

Master Dalmain was a late foal, but he has shown considerable promise in his limited racing. He was placed in three of his four races before winning the Novice Trial at Invercargill last month. In his only other appearance he gained an easy win in the Apprentices' Junior Hack Handicap at Gore on Saturday, but was disqualified when his rider. C. Campbell, failed by Ijlb to make the weight. He has been prepared throughout his career by W. J. Hewitt at Wingatui. j
