FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone in the Tasman Sea is moving towards the North Island. A weak trough of low pressure lies across the South Island. Forecast:—
Marlborough. Nelson and Buller.—Moderate south-westerly winds in Buller, moderate northerlies predominating elsewhere; fine and warm. Outlook: fine.
Westland.—Moderate west to south-west winds, some occasional rain at times, but mainly cloudy; temperatures moderate. Outlook: fine.
Canterbury.—Variable winds inland, moderate to fresh north-easterlies about the coast; mainly cloudy, but some scattered light rain is possible at times; temperatures mild. Outlook: fine.
