The deficiency payment for lambs killed for export this week has been reduced by id per lb to lid per lb. The reduction follows the increase of Jd per lb in the basic meat schedules for this week, announced at the week-end. The gross payment to the owners of lambs killed this week is therefore the same as last week. Mr A. G. Robb, of Wellington, has been appointed chairman of Imperial Chemical Industries (N.Z.), Ltd. He succeeds Sir James Fletcher who retired on January 25. Mr Robb will retain his present position as managing director.
