CRICKET North Otago Makes 171 In Reply To Fiji

DUNEDIN, January 22. The honours lay with North Otago after an eventful first day’s play against the touring Fiji cricket team at Oamaru today. A good crowd saw 338 runs made in 303 minutes while 22 wickets fell. In reply to Fiji’s first innings score of 113—the lowest of the tour —North Otago made 171. At the close of play, Fiji had lost two wickets for 54. A. Cartwright and M Sandri bowled well for North Otago, claiming two wickets each, but Ellis had the best figures—four for 14 off 3.5 overs. From seven for 68. North Otago was all out for 171. Tavo and Valentine were the
