DEVELOPMENT OF NELSON
Council’s Request To Mr Marshall (N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, January 19. The Nelson City Council decided last night to invite the ■ Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Marshall) to meet the council as soon as possible to discuss any plans for the future industrial development of the area. The Minister will also be asked to consult the council before any plans for the future use of the mill building are put into effect Mr S. A. Whitehead, M.P. said he did not think it would be too much to ask the Minister to attend. Mr B R. Walter said it was desirable at this stage that the Minister be asked to meet only the councillors It was a matter of urgency and the approach should be made as soon as possible, said Mr Walter.
