Youth Drowned In Southland

(N Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL. Jan. 17. A youth was drowned in the Owaka river estuary, near Pounawea. today. He was Jan Alistair Stewart, aged 16. son of Mr and Mrs A C. Stewart, of Lyne street. Invercargill He was with several youths when he disappeared in a deen hole The dead youth was a sucvessful South Otago High School candidate in the 1961 school certificate examination.
