Royal Ballet For TV

The 8.8. C. recently signed a three-year contract with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, for performances by the famous Royal Ballet on 8.8. C. television. It provides for the Royal Ballet to appear on 8.8. C. television in nine ballets over the three-year period, and includes the services of the Royal Opera House Orchestra under one of its regular conductors. The choreographers concerned with each ballet will be in close association with the 8.8. C. producer, and in the case of the first ballet, "The Rake’s Progress,” the choreographer was Dame Ninette de Valois herself, founder of the Royal Ballet and inspiration and driving force behind its rise over the last 30 years from modest beginnings to international fame. 6
