Increase To 10.4 %

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 15.

The 1 per cent, increase in the cost of living in the last quarter, revealed by the consumers price index, would require an amendment to the general wage order claim, already filed by the Federation of Labour, the federation’s president (Mr F. P. Walsh) told freezing workers ait Ngauranga today. The claim would be raised from 9.3 per cent, to 10.4 per cent., he said. A fixture would be sought as soon as the Arbitration Court resumed sittings.
