FALLOUT ON JAPAN

Drinking Water Warning (N^J’.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, January 9. The Japanese Central Meteorological Agency had announced that radioactivity 100 times the normal count was detected in snow which fell over the New Year, and warned against using melted snow for drinking water, the British United Press reported from Tokyo. More radioactive fall-out was expected in February. The agency explained that the radioactivity was caused by contaminated dust falling from the troposphere as well as from the stratosphere, and said that the fall-out from these two layers of the atmosphere was expected to increase in the coming months
