Girl Believed Drowned

AUCKLAND. January 8.

A 10-year-old girl .is believed to have drowned when swimming with a group of friends on a small beach near the Point England sandspit. Auckland, this afternoon. She is Deryn Kevenn. daughter of Mr and Mrs H. R. Kevenn. of 45 Waddell avenue. Point England. It is thought she was caught in a tidal rip and carried into the channel.

The police launch. Deodar, patrolled the estuary during the afternoon and search parties combed the coastline but found no trace of her.
