Lincoln Course On Leadership
A leadership training course for members of the Junior Red Cross from many parts of New .Zealand will be held at Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln, from January 11 to 17. The course will be conducted by the director of Junior Red Cross (Miss Janet Studholme) and about 60 girls and boys, as well as adult leaders, are expected to attend. They will live at Lincoln for the six days of their course. On Saturday a group of voluntary aids from the North Canterbury Centre of the Red Cross Society will give the trainees a demonstration of first aid and home nursing. On Sunday an open day will be held at Lincoln. On Monday the trainees will be shown the North Canterbury headquarters in Cashel street. Some will go out in vans delivering hot meals to the aged for the Good Neighbour Service and others will visit homes for the aged. The trainees have been selected from their centres for their potential as leaders. The party from southern districts will arrive tomorrow evening and the North Island contingent will arrive by steamer express on Thursday morning.
