Arcaro finished third to the 10-fulong race on the Briebane horse, Intrigued. The Sydney jockey, N. Selwood, won the race on Brother Mac, (17/1), giving the horse its fourth successive win since December 9 Second was Jour d’Or (40/1), ridden by W, Weibum. Arcaro raced Intrigued. (13/2), from eighth poeition at the half mile to level in front with Brother Mac at the home turn. But Intrigued could not carry Arcaro on. The Italian jockey, E. Camici. finished sixth on High Society. At the half mile High Society was well back at the rear of the field but Camici worked his way
through to make a good belated run in the straight. The other Interaattonal Jockey, L. Piggott, of England, on Booberauna, R. Poincelet. ot France, on Ruperton, and H. Takahashi, of Japan, on Near Light, all were on horses which could not handle the heavy going. It had been raining nearly all Friday night in Brisbane and was ahowery yesterday. Piggott wa * fifteenth,
Poincelet tenth and Takahaohi ninth. The QuoeiMtand aDfrenttoe. T. Ramary on SaOor’s Reward, came down two and a half furlongs from home and interferred with Poincelet’s mount. The Frenchman said Inter he thought he had a good chance until the tell.
