Ceylon Seeks Soviet Oil

A tour-member delation of the newly-formed Slate Petroleum Corporation of Ceylon left Bombay today for Cairo, It will visit the Muddle East- Eastern Europe, and the Soviet Union to settle contracts for buying oil products for Ceykm “at fasr and reasonable rates and at toe most advantageous terrrs. ” iar July the Ceylon State Petroleum Corporation took over eisJrt oil storage tanks and 16 acres of land used by the Brtstih Shell Company of Ceykon. The corporation intends to •ell oil products in competition with Shell. and wi* two American companies. Caltex and the Standard Vacuum Oil Company of Ceylon.
