N.Z. SOCIETY IN NEW YORK

Auckland Woman President

“The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, Jan. 4. A New Zealand women’s group in New York, known as the Kowhai Club, which has been meeting regularly each month, was responsible for the formation of another group last August. This is the New Zealand Society, and it is an excellent contact for visitors from the Dominion in New York.

News of this society was given by Mrs P. Hogg, who left Auckland on Tuesday after a two months’ holiday in New Zealand. Mrs Hogg said that the president of the society is an Aucklander, Miss Mary Scott, while the Kowhai Club was organised by another Aucklander, Mrs Maureen Broom.

Although Mrs Hogg, formerly Miss Pamela Lenton. makes a visit home every two years, she has lived away from New Zealand for 14 years. Before her marriage she was a receptionist at New Zealand House in London. Married to a U.N.I.C.E.F. official she now lives in Parkway Village. Long Island, and has a three-year-old eon.
