Chinese In R.N.Z.A.F.

"The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, Jan. 3.

A Malayan-born Chinese. Leading Aircraftman Chuah Hock Hin (known a* Eddie Chuah), has been accepted into the R.N.Z.AF. as a regular airman. Living in Penang. Eddie Chuah found that his technical knowledge would be bettered if he could get Air Force training. In 1955 he was accepted by the R.A.F. which employs Malay and Chinese labour locally in the Far East. He became acquainted with New Zealand airmen in Singapore in 1958. In 1960 his application to emigrate to New Zealand was successful. After arriving in New Zealand last January, he was enlisted in June. He is now stationed at Ohakea as an engine mechanic.
