VACANT HEALTH POSTS
No Immediate Appointments
The three vacancies for medical offices* of health in the South Trtanri—at Nelson, Greymouth, and Invercargill —are unlikely to be filled until well on in next year, the Director-General of Health (Dr. H. B. Turbott) said this week. "It was hoped that the Nelson appointment would have been filled by now, but this has not been possible owing to unforeseen circumstances,” said Dr. Turbott "The appointment will probably not now be filled until about November. “The Greymouth appointment will probably also have to wait until November, but I hope it may be possible to fill the Invercargill vacancy about May.” Asked about a possible third medical officer of health in Christchurch, Dr Turbott said there was no vacancy in this city. The position had been abolished when the Greymouth district was established.
