Sir.—The recent series of lectures on middle-distance coaching of athletes by Arthur Lydiard was a great help to these runners. However. what of the sprinters in this country? No apparent coaching programmes or facilities are available for the future sprinting hopes seen in our school events each year. Surely we can encourage our sprinters in some snanner, perhaps even by "poaching one of Australia's coaches.—Yours, etc. OLD SPRINTER. December IL 1961.
