YOUTH DIES IN HOSPITAL

Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Dec. 19. ■ Michael John Jerram died 1 in Kew Hospital this mom- ; ing about eight hours after r his parents had flown to his i bedside from Auckland. The last 480 miles of the ’ dash, which enabled Mr and • Mrs Jerram to be with their ■ son when he died, were cov- ■ ered in a specially-chartered t DC-3. Mr and Mrs Jerram left Auckland immediately after being advised that their 18- ' year-old son had been seri--1 ously injured in a collision 'on Bluff road about 3.40 1 p.m. yesterday. They flew to Wellington by Viscount and then chartered a DC-3 which arrived at Invercargill airport about 1.17 o’clock this morning. ; They immediately went to > Kew Hospital where their son died about 9.30 a.m.
