Car And Truck Collide

A car involved in a collision with a large truck about 6.30 pm. yesterday at the corner of Hereford street and Fitzgerald avenue, mounted the footpath, and came to rest against a large plate-glass window of a shop on the north-west comer of the intersection. 1716 frame of the window was pushed in about six inches at the bottom. but the window was undamaged. The driver of the car was Mr Brian Morrison Simon, aged 21. of 143 Buckleys road He was treated at the'Christchurch Hospital for abrasions and bruising and sent home. The truck was driven by Mr Patrick Keane, aged 29 of 54 Avalon street. Extensive damage was done to the front of the truck in the collision, and the left rear guard was torn from the car.
