MISS G. LEWIN RETIRES
Lincoln Teacher Tribute was paid to Miss G. Lewin, a retiring Lincoln schoolmistress, at a function held in her honour yesterday at the Lincoln primary school. Miss Lewin has been teaching for 35 years, the last 16 of which were spent at Lincoln. The speakers were introduced by the headmaster <Mr C. P. F. Martin) They referred to Miss Lewin’s loyal and conscientious service over a long period, mentioning her patience and understanding in particular. Speakers were the chairman of the Lincoln primary school committee (Mr V. R. Clark), the chairman of the parent-teacher association (Mr E. J. Hall) and Mr Tony Malaquin on behalf of pastpupils. Pat and Peter Fitzgibbon, twins in Miss Lewin’s 1961 class, presented her with a spray. She was presented with a gold watch on behalf of parents and present and past pupils by Judith Habgood. a form two pupil, whose family had been associated with the school for three generations. Accompanied by her sister. Miss Lewin will leave soon on a world tour.
