LEASING OF PARK

Soccer Council Complains (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 13. The New Zealand Football Association will protest to the Government Loans Board against the leasing of Okara Park, Whangarei, as a Rugby ground which can be let out to two other sports on two Saturdays in the winter. Last night's meeting of the national council decided this after a lengthy discussion on the matter. Okara Park, 56 acres of ground controlled by the Whangarei Borough Council, has been leased to the North Auckland Rugby Union on the condition it leases it to two other winter sports twice a season. But soccer officials claim this it not fair because it could be leased out to, say, hockey and Rugby League, for the two Saturdays and thus soccer would get no benefit whatever from it.
