GIRL FROM CHINA
Refugee For N.Z. (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Dec. 12. A 13-months-old refugee girl from China arrived at Whenuapai airport tonight. She was brought in bv Mr D N Perry, of Opotiki. who was returning from a fourmnntihs trip round the world He was a lay representative of the Presbvterian Church of New Zealand at the World Council of Churches, which was held at New De’hi recently. The child was introduced to the four children of the Perry family and her new mo'her. Mrs Perry. Mr Perry said the child was brought from a home in Hong Kong She will be fn the canable hands of Mrs Perry who was born in China Her parents were New Zealand missionaries in China at the beginning of the century Mr Perry, a company secrets rv. is a prominent leader in Maori affairs, being the secretarv of the Maori Council of Tribal Executives. He has been active in the promotion of industries run by Maoris to provide employment for Maoris living in the Bay of Plenty.
