Sally Boy Out For Spell
Sally Boy, winner of the Spring Handicap on New Zealand Cup day last month, has been blistered and turned out for a lengthy spell. Sally Boy, a five-year-old by Garrison Hanover from Sally Walla, is one of the most promising pacers in New Zealand. Unfortunately he has been dogged by recurring soreness for the last 12 months. The trouble responded to treatment long enough for him to win at Forbury Park and Addington, but it was felt that if he continued to race he would break down completely. His owner-trainer. E. T. Hubbard, is going to leave him turned out for some months and it is unlikely that he will race much before next season.
