Unemployment In Canada

(N.Z. Preu Aun.—Copyright) OTTAWA, Nov. 18. Canada’s total of unemployed rose to 318.000 in midOctober, an increase of 10,000 from the previous month, the Bureau of Statistics reported yesterday. October unemployment represented 4.9 per cent, of the labour force, compared with 5.7 per cent, in October last year. This is the third successive month in which unemployment declined from the corresponding period of 1960, after 17 successive months of increases in the year-to-year comparison.
