A. AND P. SHOW AT NELSON

Record Entries In Many Sections

(From Our Own Reporter) NELSON, Nov. 17. The Nelson Agricultural and Pastoral Association's sixty-seventh annual show opened at Richmond Park today in brilliant sunshine, and with the promise of being one of the most successful exhibitions in the association’s history. A record number of entries was established in cattle, industrial, domestic produce, poultry, dogs and photography sections, and the Show is also notable for the introduction of two new sections. cheese and butter. Dairy companies from Canterbury, Marlborough and Wellington competed in these sections for the first time this year. The judges. Messrs D. Mclntyre and E. M. Beere, of the Department of Agriculture, considered the butter entries of excellent quality, but the cheese less so, some samples losing points because of open texture. In the cattle section, the judge of Friesians, Mr M. B. Leslie, of Christchurch, said that in general there was room for improvement, but he was extremely satisfied with the dairy cows and younger bull (2 years). The standard of Shorthorns was excellent, even outstanding, said their judge, Mr H. ChisneM, of Stoke.

Judging the Jerseys, Mr F. Brimlow, of Taranaki, said that the standard was extremely high, better than most.
