BELLAMYS’ HOURS
New Gause In Bill
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 16. Parliament will be free to fix the hours in Bellamys, the Parliamentary bar, if the House of Representatives approves a recommendation made by the Statues Revision Committee. Included in the committee’s revised version of the Licensing Amendment Bill, reported back to the House today, is a new clause, not contained in the original draft of the bill, which repeals sections 270 and 271 of the Legislature Act, 1908. Section 270 requires a poll to be taken by each new parliament on whether liquor will be sold in Parliament Buildings. Section 271 states that no liquor can be sold in Parliament Buildings after 10 p.m. on week-days and not at all on Sundays.
