Safety Belt Standard

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 17. A New Zealand standard specification for car safety belts has now been adopted by the Department of Industries and Commerce. It is an adaptation of the British standard and specifies constructional and performance requirements for seat belts and harnesses made of webbing for use by occupants of motor vehicles. Safety belts complying with the standard specification will be manufactured in New Zealand.
