Thefts From Graves

Sir, —With others I am horrified by the callousness of those very unkind folk who remove the flower-containers from grave* and apply them to their own use. Recently I visited Papanui cemetery and was upset to And my three flower-containers missing. I retrieved two from other graves. The flowers were dead; otherwise I would have left them. The third container I did not locate as my time was limited. I have since heard of an excellent idea. Sprinkle the flowers well and put in a plastic bag. make a small incision to allow the air in, and seal with a rubber band. I have experimented

and the result is good. I abhor Jam-jars on graves. Now the problem is solved.— Your*, etc., L.T. November 17, 1961.
