CAR ROLLS OVER

Driver Admitted To Hospital

A car rolled over as it turned from the Main North road on to Waikuku beach road, after being struck from behind by another car travelling in the same direction, about 4.45 p.m. yesterday. The driver of the overturned car. Miss Lorna Alison Beet, of Christchurch, suffered a broken collar bone. Sergeant R. A. Young, of the United States Air Force, who was with her in the car, escaped injury. The following car, a rental, was driven by Lieutenant H. D. Kellogg, of the United States Navy. Both he and a passenger in the car. Miss M. A. McDonald, of Christchurch, were ’uninjured. Miss Best and Sergeant Young were taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital by St. John ambulance. Miss Best was admitted after X-ray examination and Young was discharged after being treated for shock. Both the American servicemen are stationed at Harewood.
