Brigadier F. Searle, who has been divisional commander of the CanterburyWestland division of the Salvation Army since 1956, has been transferred to the command of the northern division with headquarters at Auckland. His place will be taken by Lieutenant-Colonel A. Albiston, formerly of Christchurch, who now commands the central north division at. Palmerston North. A third divisional Commander. Lieutenant-Colonel Lord, formerly a commander of the CanterburyWestland division, who has commanded at Auckland since 1956, has been transferred to command at Palmerston North. A year after he . was appointed to Christchurch, Brigadier Seale was selected for a course at the Salvation Army international college for officers in London. During his work in Canterbury and Westland he has opened a new corps at Hornby and another at Richmond, Nelson. Two new youth centres have been built, one at Oxford and the other at Hornby. Brigadier Searle was born in England and came to Auckland as a child. He commanded several leading Salvation Army corp* in New Zealand before he was transferred to Australia, where he commanded the Sydney Congress Hall corps and was divisional young people’s secretary. He returned to New Zealand to command the Auckland Congress Hall corps before he came to Christchurch. Mri Searle hae served as divisional home link secretary for the Canterbury. Westland division while site has been in Christchurch. Lieutenant-Colonel Albiston was born in Christchurch where he lived for a ? n ' e , time in Gloucester street.
