TRAFFIC SCHEME UNSATISFACTORY
Heathcote Bridge Intersection A trial with painted traffic islands at the intersection of Ferry road and St. Andrew’s Hill road had not functioned successfully, the traffic committee reported to the City Council last evening. It was agreed to abandon the scheme for traffic islands until more effective improvements could be made when the bridge was renewed, and that the intersection would be controlled by a traffic officer at peak periods on Sunday afternoons.
