Additions “Up To Schedule”

(NX Press Assodstton) - ROTORUA. November 14. Work on the additions to the Tasman Pulp and Paper Company* Kawecau mill was “up. to schedule,” said the project manager, Mr C. B. Jones, today. After a 10-day strike, 40 riggers returned to ths job on Friday afternoon. There has been no great delay, according to Mr Jones. He said the construction firm, SreSSTC.-ittSS tiona completed by this time next year. On Thursday, the Arbitration Court will hear the dispute, which began on August 16, over the interpretation of an award.

The dispute was between the Auckland General Labourers’ and New Zealand Engineers’ Unions and related to which union had jurisdiction over slinging and positioning stainless steel pipes on the project. , The return of the riggers averted the threatened dismissal of more than 500 men working on the job.
