Speed Over Furlong

“The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, Nov. 14. None of the horses which galloped at Takamini today drew more attention that the six-year-old, Up and Coming, when he went at speed over a furlong or so down the straight. Up and. Coming has not raced in New Zealand since he won the Great Northern « Ijeger in autumn of 1959. In the meantime he has competed in Australia and the United States. Since he last started Up and Coining has had a knee operation for the removal of a bone chip. His progress in a further preparation, especially on the hardening ground of the summer months is therefore going to be interesting.

In unusually burly conration, Up and Coming went freely enough this morning. He was ridden by K D Campbell
