SIX DIE AT SEA
Ketch Sinks In Sudden Squall (N.Z. Prtn Ann.—Copyright) NASSAU (Bahamas), November 14. Six persons aboard the 60ft ketch Blue Belle were killed when the vessel ran into a sudden squall and sank ah thin 15 minutes late Sunday night. Captain Julian Harvey, aged 44, the only survivor, was brought to Nassau last night, with the body of an unidentified girl of about 10, the Associated Press said. The Blue Belle left Fort Lauderdale, Florida, last Wednesday on a week’s cruise of Bahaman waters.
Mr Harvey sold the sudden squaH sent the mainmast crashing through the hull. Fire broke out and within 15 minutes the ketch went down. Mr Harvey said he was at the wheel and the others aboard, including Mrs Harvey, were in the stern. The skipper said he could not reach the others and after be was in the water, he managed to get into a lifeboat.
