Break-up Party.— Mrs I. Cunliffe presided at the break-up party of the Shirley League of Mothers, when there was a large attendance of members, representatives of other women’s organisations and visitors. Items were given by Mrs M. Nicolle. Mrs M. McCulloch, the Christchurch Country Dancing Club. Miss L. McLachlan, the drama group led by Mrs R. Smith, and the choir led by Mrs K. Andrews.

Old Folks’ Gift.—A donation of £4 7s has been received by the Save the Children Fund for their Rice Bowl appeal from the Christchurch Old Folks’ Association. “We are really touched by such a gift from people whom we know have very little for themselves,” said the president (Miss M. G. Havelaar). The appeal will be open until the end of the year.
