TWO YOUTHS DROWNED
Car Falls Into Clutha (2VJE. Freis Association) DUNEDIN, NOV. 11 Two young men were drowned when their car fell into the Clutha river on Saturday night after failing to take a corner on the Kaitangata - Balclutha highway. They were: Graham John Scott, aged 18. a motor mechanic, of 175 Charlotte street, Baidu tha. Frederick Henry Stratford, aged 16, a motor mechanic. of Larnach street. Balclutha. The accident occurred about 8.15 p.m., when the car left the road about three chains west of the Railway viaduct on the highway. The car with the men in. side was found at 6.80 a.m. today by friends who had gone out to see why they had not come home. They saw the tyre marks on the road and found the car lying on its side in the river. The bodies and the car were retrieved by the police later in ~ the morning.
