MAGISTRATE’S COURT
SATURDAY (Before Messrs A. V. Baker and D. Cook, Justices of the Peace.) FINED £2 Two young men, whose names were suppressed, were each fined £2 when they pleaded guilty to chaiges of being found on enclosed premises at 888 Colombo street. The two defendants had been located by the police near the School for Dental Nurses at 2.15 a.m. that day. said Sergeant V. F. Townshend. There had been complaints about prowlers there and at other nurses’ homes. REMANDED Dennis Patrick Harper, aged 25, a workman, was remanded on bail to November 2 on a charge of indecent assault on a male. William John Thompson, aged 32, a workman, was remanded in custody to November 2 on a charge of unlawfully taking a car, valued at £645, the property of Mitre Motors.
