Darfield Batsmen Hit Up 99 In 35 Minutes

Darfield gained a thrilling outright win at the expense of South Malvern when it scored 99 runs in 35 minutes in the Malvern sub-association cricket Competition on Saturday. In its first Innings, Darfield started weakly, losing eight wickets for 28 In reply to South Malvern's 70. But B. Johnson and J. Gunn made a recovery and the team failed by only two runs to reach South Malvern's total.

South Malvern scored runs quickly tn its second innings and when the score had reached 95 for three wickets the captain. D. Craib, made a sporting declaration. Darfield, set 98 runs to make in 35 minutes, reached the objective on the second last ball of the day. Sheffield headed KirweeUnlted by 50 runs on the first innings in the second match, Kirwee-United batted first but was in trouble against some good bowling by A. Wright. The left-hand medium-pace bowler gained an analysis of seven for 23, R. Churton being the only batsman to offer resistance. Seventy runs proved a none-too-difficult target tor the Sheffield batsmen and the KirweeUnited score was passed with the loss of only three wickets. N. Wright and R.
