SUGAR HEIR DIES
Injuries In Fall (NX Press Assn.—Copyright) PHOENIX (Arizona). October 29. The. American sugar fortune heir, Mr Adolph Bernard Spreckels 11, died yesterday of a brain hemorrhage, the Associated Press reported. Police said Mr Spreckels fell after leaving the cocktail lounge of a Phoenix motel, striking his head against a stone pillar. The assistant county medical examiner, Dr. Frank Vigil, said the hemorrhage apparently was the result of the fall and head injury. An inquest would be held tomorrow.
Mr Spreckels, heir to a multi-million-dollar fortune, would have been 50 tomorrow. He was one of three children of Mr Rudolph Spreckels, who inherited the sugar empire from his father, Mr Claus A. Spreckels, founder of the Spreckels Sugar Company. Mr Adolph Spreckels had been married six times. His fifth wife was the former Kay Williams, who later married the late Clark Gable. S.A. The association will also try at a meeting in London next week to have the name of the games altered to “Commonwealth Games.”
