Two Sides A frustrated London businessman abandoned his car in a non-parking area and left this note:”I have circled this block 20 times. I have an appointment and must keep it. Forgive us our trespasses.” Returning 40 minutes later, he found this note pinned to his steering wheel; “I have circled this block for 20 years. If I don’t give you a ticket I’ll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation.” Taupo Fire A heavy pall of smoke hung over Lake Taupo as a huge scrub fire blazed on a land development block near Kuratau on the western side of the lake yesterday. Tuwharatoa Rural Fire Officers kept a watch on the outbreak, but no danger was foreseen. The scrub is on a block being developed for the Lands and Survey Department by a Cambridge contractor, Mr J.
