Women’s Place In Hong Kong
(N .Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) HONG KONG. A woman public leader has asked for a greater say by women in running Hong Kong. She is Dr. Alison Bell, one of eight elected members to the Urban Council, which taks care of the colony’s environmental well-being. She moved a motion for the appointment of a woman member to the council, which as the only existing sector of parliamentary democracy in Hong Kong, consists of exofficio as well as governmentappointed and elected members. The council passed the motion when seven of the elected members present voted for it while the 13 guveimnent servants and appointed members abstained.
